Tak is Back

I got an email from Thunders Arena advertising "Tak is Back".  When I checked it out further, the bigger surprise was seeing Braden Charron wrestling for TA.  Sure, Tak is fine and all, but it's the muscle dudes like Braden who make wrestling the sport of kings.  I love the expression of cocky confidence on Braden's face as he presses Tak overhead.  That feeling of cocky confidence is what every muscle boy wrestler gets when he dominates his inferior opponent.

Wrestling Hijinx

You can check out Tristan Archer wrestling on Youtube in a match against PV Red.  Tristan looks good for much of the match, but in the end, PV Red uses a dirty move to get the win.  Predictably, the ref doesn't see the illegal act.  I think it's safe to say that the NFL replacement officials all received their initial training in the pro wrestling ring.

Jason Kane

We saw Jason Kane a while ago in a wrestling match against golden boy Austin Cooper.  He didn't look too happy back then being scooped up and carried around like Cooper's bitch.  More recently Kane wrestled Aaron Travers in a match at Rock Hard Wrestling, and this time Kane gets the upper hand.  It looks like he now appreciates the beauty of the bodyslam as he scoops Travers up.  Feels pretty good being on the other end of the slam, eh Jason?

Football Season

Hey, football season is now underway, and what better way to pay tribute than by posting some action pictures of Mark Angel, aka Mr. Touchdown, bodyslamming the shit out of his opponents.  I would post some pictures of Jay Cutler getting bodyslammed repeatedly during last night's game, but quite frankly, that was just too nauseating.  The lesson to be learned is don't shoot your mouth off if you can't back it up.

Emil Sitoci

This wrestler is Emil Sitoci from the Netherlands.  According to his bio, the sports he participated in most when he was younger were both judo and gymnastics.  That seems like great training for someone on the way to becoming a professional wrestler.  He looks pretty good in the ring, but, of course, the hippie could stand to get a haircut.

Turf Battle

I was a little disturbed last week when I was checking out the Beefcakes of Wrestling blog and saw a whole post devoted to Rob Terry picking up and slamming various wrestling opponents like they were bugs.  I mean, the bodyslam is my thing, and I really don't like it when other bloggers encroach on my turf like that.  You hear that Bruno?!!  I'm talking about you!!  Seriously, though, Rob Terry has been on a slamming terror lately.  But I can understand how he feels.  You're a wrestler.  You see a bunch of other dudes.  All you want to do is take hold of them, scoop them up, and slam them so hard they lose control of their bodily functions.  The other guys serve no other purpose than that.  I think that's why wrestling opponents were created.

Mr. Touchdown Scores!

One of my favorite posts from last month is the one showing blond all-American jock Mark Angel wreaking havoc at Beyong Wrestling by gorilla pressing various opponents.  When he wrestles at Chikara Pro Mark Angel does so as Mr. Touchdown, and it's nice to see him gorilla press a hapless dude while wearing his football uniform.  The football player persona gives him a certain swagger, and it reminds me of high school where the jocks were in control.  Every once in a while you needed to exhibit your physical prowess just to keep the other dudes in line.  In the wrestling ring, the gorilla press serves the same purpose.
