British Wrestling

On our trip to England we've seen Radu Bulat and Garrett Bond already, and now it's time for a tribute to the rest of British pro wrestlers.  Sure, I like to joke about the pale, pasty bodies of Englishmen being tossed about in the ring, but to be honest, these guys are just doing what they love.  How can you tell?  Just look at the venues these guys are in.  You got wood paneling, flourescent lighting, drop ceilings, buildings that haven't been remodeled since 1973.  You can even smell the odor of stale cigarettes and beer emanating from these pictures.  Obviously these guys aren't in it for the money, so they must really love what they do.  To me, this is pro wrestling entertainment at its purest, not like what you see with WWE.  The action is so up close and personal, even the fans get to join in on the fun.

If you want to see more British pro wrestling photos (and I mean a lot more), be sure to check out Brett Hadley Photography.

Garrett Bond

Heading back to England let's take a look at pro wrestler Garrett "G Wiz" Bond.  He's 6' 2" tall and weighs 220 pounds, so he carries a great physical presence into the ring.  And he comes by his talent honestly.  Garrett is a second generation wrestler following his father's footsteps into the squared circle.  The dude has got good size and is obviously strong, so he likes to throw other wrestlers around the ring.  After all, that's what wrestling is all about, no matter where in the world you are.  Check out this podcast where Garrett talks about his wrestling life in the UK.

You gotta love the hair!

School Days

No Rules Wrestling is more than just an underground wrestling website.  It is also an educational institution.  It often features instruction videos, usually featuring Dave Calbrese and his School of Hard Knocks.  If you want to learn how to be a pro wrestler, I recommend that you check out these videos.  Of course, I like the one featured here where Calbrese teaches young rookie wrestlers Luca Rossi and "Showtime" Sammy Sabre the art of the bodyslam.  Calbrese truly is an accomplished expert in the field of pro wrestling, but what gets me about this video is the complete lack of interest that students Luca and Showtime have in their lesson.  Don't they realize they are in the presence of greatness here?  Showtime just stands in the corner looking bored, as if he's counting down the seconds until he can take his leave.  And Luca is even worse.  He looks like he's still recovering from an all night party at the frat house.

This must be frustrating for a professional like Calbrese.  He's a master of his art, and the younger wrestlers should be eagerly soaking up his knowledge.  But alas, like the lazy, self entitled millenials of today, they just stare back with vapid expressions of disinterest.  At least Calbrese knows how to get their attention back:

Ouch!  An over-the-knee backbreaker.  That'll wake you up, you dumb-ass punk!

Text Book Wrestling

I gotta say I like this new guy Cason at Thunders Arena.  Here are some more pics from his match against Blayne.  One of my favorite wrestling moves is the over-the-knee backbreaker, and Cason is kind enough to demonstrate it for us here.  There's really nothing complicated about the move.  You just scoop your opponent up into the air, then you drop him over your knee for the backbreaker.  Simple, yet effective, and when done right like Cason does here, it's fucking beautiful!  The fourth picture above shows it best with Cason in full flex, the sweat glistening on his body, while the hapless Blayne is sprawled across his knee, his body nothing more than a human sacrifice to the muscle god that is Cason.  This proves that when done right, wrestling truly is art.

The otk backbreaker is a great move to force your opponent to submit and reveal himself to be the bitch that he is.  Now, ever so often you get a guy who is stubborn and won't coorperate, but Cason shows us how to deal with a dude like that.  Just a little grab in that special place, and it won't be much longer before your opponent is begging for mercy.

And when all is said and done, your opponent is nothing more than a quivering mass of flesh on the mat while you stand above him, flexing and reveling in your alpha male status.  Thanks Cason!  And don't stop flexing like the muscleboy that you are!

Radu Bulat

I like to mix in a little international flavor to my blog just to show how universal wrestling is.  Recently I was perusing a bunch of photos from British pro wrestling matches, and of course since we're talking the United Kingdom here, a lot of pale and pasty bodies crossed my computer screen.  So you'll understand why Radu Bulat caught my attention.  Six feet tall and 200 pounds, the Romanina born wrestler with the dark complexion stands out in a crowd of anemic-looking Englishmen.  The dude is fit and strong, and he likes to bodyslam.  What can be better than that?  Too bad he'll be packing his bags once Brexit becomes final.

By the way, what is it with Romania and wrestling?  I've featured a lot of Romanian studs in my blog in addition to Radu, such as CockyBoy Alex, Karl Kasper, Steel Muscle God, and Evander.  I'm thinking I need to check out Romania for my next vacation.

Ethan Slade

Not long ago I did a post about Dante from Muscleboy Wrestling and his match against Ethan Slade.  As I noted in that last post, a lot can be said about Slade, so now I'm ready to add a few of my own words to the conversation.  The dude is 5' 7" and 145 pounds, not very big size, but you can see he's pretty cut.  Slade must be a popular wrestler for Muscleboy because he already appears in seven videos.  It looks like he's pretty popular with the other wrestlers, too.  Given his size, it's fairly easy for some other strong wrestler to toss him around.  And what wrestler doesn't like that?  Unfortunately I haven't seen the full matchess that these shots come from, but by the looks of them, Slade takes a beating often, and he takes it well.

In my prior post I commented about how the action at Muscleboy often moves beyond mere wrestling and into other things.  I guess if I were Slade and I got grabbed, carried, and slammed over and over like this, I'd be in the mood for some extracurricular activity too.

Nice!  Take me out back when you're done with me boys!

CockyBoy Alex

This is CockyBoy Alex from Romania.  The 25 year old stands in at 5' 8" and weighs 200 pounds.  The dude has got muscles, and he loves to show them off.  Here are some clips from a lift and carry video Alex produced.  I don't know the stats on his friend, but the other guys looks pretty sizeable.  Yet Alex repeatedly picks him up with ease and carries him around (between all the flexing of course).  And Alex does so with his killer smile.  Alex is one of the most popular muscleboys on the BestFlex website, so be sure to check out his profile page.  He makes videos, is available for cam shows, and if you ever find yourself in Romania, you can even arrange for a meet up.

Now let's give Alex some peace and quiet so he can rest.  It's really tough work being a muscleboy!

Bodybuilder's Burden

I'm sure "Mr. Singapore" Danie Dharma can tell you that sometimes it's tough being a bodybuilder.  You got the size and the big muscles, so everyone expects you to do all the heavy lifting.  That even applies to bodybuilders like Dharma who are professional wrestlers.  Once a bodybuilder steps inside the ring, people expect a show.  They want you to prove what those muscles can do.  Luckily for "Destroyer" Dharma at Singapore Pro Wrestling, he's up to the challenge, and I suspect he actually enjoys showing what those muscles can do.  If you step inside the ring to face this guy, you better expect your body to go flying.

Check out this Youtube video which features a compilation of some of Dharma's best power moves.  This is truly what muscle wrestling is all about.  Keep up the good work Danie!

Cason

For the past few months I haven't had the opportunity to follow Thunders Arena very much, but this week after receiving an email from TA about recent matches, I went back to their website.  And I'm glad I did.  A recent addition to the TA roster is a bodybuilder named Cason.  At 6' 1" and 235 pounds, this strapping 20 year old kid is all muscleboy.  Very much intrigued, I decided to check out Cason's match against Blayne.  Wow.  It features probably the best crotchlift for a lift and carry that I have ever seen in a TA match.  It's the beautiful bodies involved that help make this such a spectacular scene, but it's how long Cason carries Blayne and how Blayne begs as he is carried around the room that puts it over the top.  To be fair, this 19 minute match does not feature a whole lot of wrestling action, but the action it does show is f-ing awesome!  And the time in between the action mostly features Cason flexing, which is also f-ing awesome!

I had an itch when I watched this match, and seeing muscleboy Cason put Blayne in some dominating holds totally satisfied that itch.  By the end, this is how I felt:

If Mr. Mike is reading this post, here's my suggestion for TA for 2018:  more of Cason doing more of this to more wrestlers.  Thanks!
