Most bodyslams begin with you and your opponent chest to chest, but they don't always have to be like that. When I'm wrestling around with a buddy, I find I can easily lift him from behind for a slam. My opponent never sees it coming. I had some success with this move on the mats in high school, too. You just reach in between his legs from behind, take a good crotch hold, and lift. Sometimes you can grab his arm a la ball in chain or pump handle fashion. Either way, it's a fun way to lift another dude and show him whose boss in the process.

Here are a few pictures of blond mega-musclestud Mike Pope in action. He truly has one of the best physiques I've seen among Internet video wrestlers. He often used a half nelson on a guy as he lifted him up for a slam. While such a technique is not unique to Mike Pope, I suspect he did it so his hapless victim could get a good view of his rock hard abs before being bodyslammed. Hey, I'd be willing to be slammed by him just so I could get up close and personal with those abs. Unfortunately, the only pictures I've seen of Mike Pope in action are lower quality video stills, which makes me think he wrestled back in the mid-90s or so (I think for Can-am). I don't think he is wrestling these days, which is too bad, because I would love to see one of his bodyslams in HD. If anyone knows what Mike Pope is up to these days, please share.

I'm not sure I'd recommend the technique that this Slovak muscleboy is using on his buddy. Perhaps he's just going to slam him down onto the floor, or he's setting the dude up for a backbreaker over his knee, or maybe he's just showing off by carrying him around for a bit. But specific techniques aside, just make sure you pick your guy up, hoist him high, then bring him down hard. After a good bodyslam, your opponent won't have the nerve (or breath) to criticize your technique.

The Internet wrestling video website Thunders Arena has a gift for finding muscleheads who love to gorilla press other muscleheads. A recent match of theirs has models Zack Vazquez (aka Zack Jonathan) and UNO wrestling each other. But from the looks of it, UNO is the one doing all the wrestling while Zack Vazquez takes a beating.

With a little effort I came across another good bodyslam from an amateur wrestling match. I think the guy executing the move here is Wes Blaensifer from a college in Oregon. He's a heavyweight, so it's no small feat for him to be able to lift and toss his large opponent around like that. Very impressive.

I have mentioned Evander a couple of months ago. He's another bodybuilder with his own blog and webpage where he's sells flexing and wrestling videos. Here Evander scoops up and carries around another muscle guy from a recent video. Let's hope he continues to show off his power by making more wrestling videos.

Viorel Marasoiu is a Romanian bodybuilder, now living in the US, and he has posted some video clips of him flexing, training, and even wrestling. Here he's executing an OTK backbreaker on someone who agreed to appear in his video and be humiliated in a wrestling match. If only I could find a friend with huge muscles, a web cam, and a wrestling fetish . . .

In an earlier post I noted how difficult it is to execute a prostyle looking bodyslam in an amateur wrestling match, but sometimes it gets done. Here is a good picture of a stud from Johns Hopkins University taking his opponent for a ride.

Another online wrestling video company is No Rules Wrestling, and while the action mostly seems to focus on gut work and other punching, sometimes you get some good wrestling moves, like a bodyslam. Here is wrestler Dave Calbrese as he manhandles his opponent. While it's always nice to see a good bodyslam on WWE or some other pro wrestling production, I think I prefer these young amateur guys in action pretending to be pro wrestlers.

A lot of bodybuilders are going to the Internet and creating sites, often times to promote themselves and raise money to further their bodybuilding careers. Many like to show off their strength by pressing other dudes overhead. Some guys, like Jesse Godderz and Kyle Stevens, have even moved on to pro wrestling or wrestling video sites. It's clear they love their muscles. I wonder how you apply to be a liftee for one of these muscleheads.

Although pro wrestling has given us the gorilla press for a while, in recent years, many internet video wrestling companies have also gotten into the act. As a result, some of my favorite muscle stud wrestlers like Aryx Quinn, Braden Charron, and Alexi Adamov have hoisted overhead some of their hapless opponents. I can hardly wait to see who's next.

The ultimate of bodyslams has to be the gorilla press (aka military press and overhead press). The strength, the power, the complete domination when a muscleman wrestler hoists his opponent fully over his head. It's an impressive sight. It's one of the best gifts pro wrestling has given to the wrestling world.
You can bodyslam a guy during a scripted pro wrestling match. Even horsing around with your buddy you can hoist him up into the air. But it is rare to see someone get scooped up like this in a real amateur wrestling match. In the many matches I've witnessed, I've seen it happen only once. On occasion I even tried to do so while wrestling in high school, but I was never able to complete the move by lifting my opponent up with what looked like a pro-style bodyslam. The photo above is not a real amateur wrestling match, but seeing the guys in singlets, it looks close. If you got a photo or a video of a good amateur wrestling bodyslam, I'd love to see it.

The past couple of years have seen several male wrestling video companies pop up on the Internet. One such company is Rock Hard Wrestling, and while the quality of the wrestling is not quite as good as what you might see on BGEast, they still do a pretty good job of things. Rock Hard's best asset may be its stable of young wrestling talent, and these muscle guys are definitely easy on the eyes. Here we have wrestler Cody Nelson, who enjoys scooping up his opponents now and then with a good crotchlift on the way to a solid bodyslam or painful OTK backbreaker.
