Backbreaker Monday

It's Monday.  The first day of the work week. Seems like a good day to have a tribute to the backbreaker because a job can be backbreaking work, amiright fellas?  Too bad we all can't be pro wrestlers.  I know these dudes put in a lot of hard work, but in the ring they make it look like too much fun for it to be just a job.  Have a good week, guys, and keep up the good work!

Bruce Ballard

Crikey.  Here we are getting on to late August and I haven't done much posting during the summer.  I guess the wrestling muses haven't been very active in my neighborhood of late.  But here's someone worth posting about.  It's Bruce Ballard from Rock Hard Wrestling, and I'm kinda surprised I haven't featured him before.  At 5'11" and 190 pounds of muscle, RHW calls him the Total Package.  These are some shots from his debut match at RHW a while back where he demolishes fellow rookie wrestler Tyson Matthews.  Our boy Bruce needs to work a little more on his bodyslamming technique, but he definitely gets an A for effort.  Tyson, on the other hand, might need to consider pursuing a career in a different sport.  Maybe cricket.  I like this kid's moxie as he strikes a double biceps flex pose in victory as if he's a certified Muscle Boy.  Can a rookie really stake such a claim after just one match?  If you look like Bruce Ballard, I guess you can.

Mahabali Shera

I like to check out Bruno's blog at Beefcakes of Wrestling because he does a great job.  A lot of the wrestlers I have blogged about here are ones that Bruno found first.  But here's a big wrestler that I haven't seen Bruno feature yet.  He's Mahabali Shera (aka Khoya) of TNA wrestling.  Originally from India, he weighs in at 265 pound and stands at 6' 2" tall.  You definitely do not want to be powerslammed by this dude unless you're curious to see what it feels like to be roadkill.  I would call Shera a beefcake, but since he's from India, and you know how they are about cows, maybe it isn't politically correct.  The last thing I'd want to do is insult a wrestler like this dude.

Spotland Scrappers

On occasion when surfing the internet trying to find things to blog about, I come across Spotland Scappers, which is an English wrestling production.  I've never paid too much attention to them before, but recently I started checking out what they have to offer.  It's not fancy, but they make a lot of entertaining videos for download, including pro style matches, matroom wrestling, and custom matches.  One custom match I came across features the two wrestlers you see here, Sammy Scrapper in the red shorts against Sam Smiler.  It's advertised as a lift and carry video, so of course I had to check it out.  Our boy in red Sammy mostly plays the heel, but I hope to find a match where Sam Smiler takes on that role.  Overall it's a fun match to watch and makes me want to check out more of Spotland Scrappers.  I have to say of the four pics I posted here, the top one is my favorite.  When you want to prove that you are a dominant alpha wrestler, that's how you need to lift and carry a dude around.  It makes an impression on your opponent.  I wish more wrestlers would do this.
