Mike Petersen

It's the dead of winter here in the northern hemisphere, so it seems like a good time to pay a visit to Australia where it's mid-summer.  Here we see in action a muscle stud wrestler named Mike Petersen.  He appears for a promotion called Melbourne City Wrestling.  According to his bio, he was an amateur wrestler before transitioning to the pros.  Looks like Petersen likes to mess around with some bodybuilding, too, in his spare time.

Rob vs Jessie

Last year I noted what a great tag team Rob Terry and Jessie Godderz made at Ohio Valley Wrestling.  What could be better than a tag team featuring these two awesome muscle studs?  Well, how about a match where these two dudes face off against each other, like they did recently at TNA Wrestling.  You don't get to see the whole match, but it looks like Godderz takes a pretty big beating.  You ever wonder what it feels like to get bodyslammed by a 300 pound bodybuilder?  I think the second to the last picture gives us a pretty good idea.  We also now know what it takes to put a smile on Rob Terry's face.

End of a Bromance

I've never been real big into pro wrestling story lines, which I guess is why I gave up on WWE by the time I got to college.  It's the action in the pro wrestling ring that gets my attention, not all the made up drama that surrounds it.  However, I've been vaguely aware of there being some sort of partnership between Rob Terry and Rob Eckos (aka Robbie E) at TNA wrestling and that this partnership has been showing some strains lately.  It looks like that relationship has finally snapped, and Rob Eckos found out the hard way that you don't fuck with Rob Terry.  It's a rare treat to see Rob Terry gorilla press another dude.  I hope I can find some better quality pics to post.

Dominic's Back!

It's been a long time since I've featured Dominic of Thunders Arena in a post, so I was happy to see him wrestling in a new match at TA.  I like how Dominic plays nice at the beginning by letting Mogly admire his biceps before Dominic goes on to humiliate the other wrestler.  But looking at that big grin on Mogly's face in the last picture, I don't think humiliation is the emotion he's experiencing at the moment.

The Professional

Unlike the Jessie Godderz we saw in my last post, Rob Terry never has any problems motivating himself to kick ass in the ring.  He's the consummate professional.  Ready 24/7.  Bring it!

Daily Grind

January is a tough month.  After six weeks of holidays with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, it can be hard to go back to the daily grind of a job or school or whatever.  Even muscleboy Jessie Godderz looks like he's finding it difficult getting excited about being back at work.

Vic Silver

Here's some more old time wrestling, this time featuring Vic Silver.  I think he's the dude being slammed in my last blog post, but here he's the alpha stud.  You can check out the full match on Youtube here and here.  This reminds me of a post I did a while ago about the athletic male body and wrestling as an art form.  Vic Silver looks awesome here.  The perfect muscular body.  The high, dominating bodyslam on his outmatched opponent.  This slam is as much art as it is sport.

Old Time Wrestling

Sometimes I find myself trolling the internet when I should be doing something else more productive (am I the only one who does that?).   But wasting time like that can lead to some good finds such as this video of wrestling bodybuilders.  The white dude is Steve Starr (real name maybe Steve Rhoda), and he delivers a good looking bodyslam.  I don't know who the other dude us.  This video looks like it comes from the 1990s in the early days of the internet.  A makeshift wrestling ring in a garage or basement.  No audience.  Two muscle dudes fighting it out before a video camera.  Makes you wonder if the internet was invented just to peddle underground wrestling videos.

Who Plays Godzilla?

Rob Terry against Bobby Lashley.  This match took place over a year ago at a Family Wrestling Entertainment event.  I can't believe it took me so long to talk about it, especially because there's so much for me to say (none of it intelligent, of course).  The amount of muscle in that ring likely exceeds the government's recommended daily allowance.  And consider Bobby Lashley in this situation.  At 6' 2" and 245 pounds, he's a goliath, but in this match he looks like a mere play thing to the 6' 5" 305 pound Rob Terry.  I find it a little ironic this takes place for a promotion called Family Wrestling Entertainment.  Watching two nearly naked muscle studs, glistening with sweat, beating the shit out of each other is now considered family entertainment?  I suspect a lot of guys watching this match were entertaining some very un-"family values" thoughts.  In this picture sequence Rob Terry manhandles Bobby Lashley and takes him down for a powerslam.  The impact must have registered on a Richter scale somewhere.  These two behemeths in the ring together has the makings of a low budget B-movie.  Two muscle monsters fighting it out in a big urban area, knocking down buildings and crushing underfoot a frightened and fleeing populace.  Tokyo, this isn't going to end well for you.

AR Fox

Wrestler AR Fox appears regularly at promotions like Combat Zone Wrestling and Dragon Gate USA.  He weighs 185 pounds, which in the world of pro wrestling puts him on the smaller side.  I guess that's why he has to play bitch sometimes to bigger dudes like Tony Nese and Robert Anthony.  But his size means he's a good high flyer in the ring, and his bodyslams usually involve him flying though the air and slamming his body against his opponent.  He's a fun wrestler to watch.  Luckily for me, AR Fox also doesn't mind now and then getting his arm in between an opponent's legs and scooping him up for a traditional bodyslam.  One thing I want to note about AR Fox is his lean, muscular body.  It reminds me of high school and having to make weight in wrestling.  For a lot of guys, cutting weight made our muscles pop, giving us good definition.  Whenever I went up against a dude who had a lean and cut look like AR Fox does, I knew I was going to be in for a good match.  Anyway, another wish of mine for 2013 is more scoopslams from AR Fox.

Tony Nese

One of the blogs I like to follow is Bruno's Beefcakes of Wrestling.  It's not only to get ideas on wrestlers to talk about in my blog, but I also enjoy the content.  One of the wrestlers Bruno features the most is Tony Nese.  I think we would all agree that if you looked up the definition of "beefcake" in the dictionary, it should have a photo of Nese.  Those legs of his are amazing.  I looks like he's got enough power in them to gorilla press a horse.  But I think it's his eight pack abs that get my attention first.  Although I'm a fan of Tony Nese, I've never featured him before.  It doesn't look like the bodyslam or gorilla press are moves he uses often, which is a shame.  With those muscles, he could easily scoopslam or lift overhead lots of dudes.  So I was very pleased when I came across these photos of him recently.  I hope Tony Nese gives me plenty more material I can use in 2013.
