Caprice Coleman

Here's Caprice Coleman in action.  At 5"10' and 210 pounds, he's got an impressive wrestler's build.  With muscles like that, it would be criminal for him not to scoop up and bodyslam opponents.  You can see him in action at federations like TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor.  Coleman has been wrestling since 1996.  Having spent 17 years in the wrestling ring, the dude still looks pretty amazing.

The Krushinator

Check out No Rules Wrestling for some new matches featuring muscle man Krush in action.  He's got a history at NRW of being the bigger guy who plays the jobber to smaller dudes, but in some of these newer matches he gets to be the heel.  I like seeing bigger wrestlers like Krush dominate.  Also, check out the gear.  Wrestling in blue jeans and in under armour shorts.  Very nice.

Atom

I was checking out Thunders Arena the other day and saw a preview for a new match featuring Atom wrestling Eric Fury.  I figured with a name like Atom, he must be a small guy, but according to his bio at TA, Atom comes in at 175 pounds, which means he's got a lot of muscle packed onto his frame.  Although Eric Fury is bigger at 190, that doesn't stop Atom from staking his claim as alpha wrestler in this match by gorilla pressing his opponent.  The gorilla press of course is great, but there are a couple of other things that I love about this.  First is that these dudes are wrestling in their underwear.  Boxer brief wrestling is awesome.  If you haven't tried it, you need to.  Second is the USA Wrestling tattoo Atom is sporting on his big biceps.  Yet further proof that wrestlers rock.

Pink Rabbit

A wrestling match featuring Jessie Godderz and Rob Terry is always worth checking out, but . . . hmmm.  This isn't quite what I was expecting to see.  I'm not sure I really want to know what's going on here.

Redemption

I've been kind of critical about Brian Baker in a couple of posts recently for thinking that just because he's a big jock he can wrestle.  His lack of skills showed when he got tossed around by a couple of smaller wrestlers in a tag team match at Rock Hard Wrestling, and it seems he got his butt kicked by Austin Cooper in another match.  But to be fair, Baker had at least one successful contest against a much smaller wrestler named Luke Harrison.  Of course, it was probably his 65 pound advantage and not his wrestling skills that resulted in his win, but still, you gotta give credit to any dude who gorilla presses another guy.

Life of Brian

I want to revisit the theme of my recent post about the tag team match at Rock Hard Wrestling featuring Brian Baker and others.  The gist of my last post was that Baker may be a jock, but that doesn't make him a wrestler.  He really seemed out of place in the ring while he got owned by Brodie Fisher and Alex Waters.  The whole match is a fun one to watch, and there's one part in particular I liked.  Brodie Fisher (I think) scooped up the much larger Baker and parades him around the ring.  Baker's tag team partner is Josh Steel, who has a wrestling background according to his bio at RHW.  He just looks on and taunts Brodie, and the two of them exchange barbs (Alex in the background joins in, too).  All the while, Baker has this "what the fuck am I doing here" look on his face as he awaits the inevitable bodyslam.

Beefcake Bodyslam

Well, I should have been quicker, but I usually avoid having daily posts since I work with a limited topic in my blog.  I had this ready yesterday, but because I waited, Bruno scooped me in his blog by doing a feature on Anthony Vigilante.  Well, here's my post on the beefcake wrestler.  How would you like to step into the ring and face this dude?  Anthony Vigilante wrestles at Pro Wrestling Syndicate in New Jersey.  He must be pretty new to the sport because I can't find much more about him, but I'm hoping that will change over time.  I'd be willing to endure a few bodyslams just to wrestle this guy.  Bruno's got more pics of him in action.

On Your Nese

I'm glad Tony Nese has given me some good material to work with this year by bodyslamming several of his inferior opponents.  But Nese can't always be the alpha dog in the wrestling ring.  In a recent match at Dragon Gate USA, he went up against the goliath Uhaa Nation.  From the match photos I have seen, it looks like Nese sufferred through several bodyslams and gorilla presses.  Nese's big muscles and eight pack abs certainly are impressive to us mere mortals, but it takes a lot more than that when you go up against someone the size of Uhaa Nation.  But never fear, you fans of Tony Nese.  Somehow, despite all the punishment he endured, Tony Nese comes out as the winner in the end.  You can check out more match photos here.

Jocks and Wrestling

There's a new match at Rock Hard Wrestling that's worth checking out.  It's a tag team match with Alex Waters and Brodie Fisher going up against Brian Baker and Josh Steel.  Alex and Brodie appear in wrestling singlets.  A nice touch.  Brodie sets the tone early for the match by bodyslamming Brian Baker (at least I think it's Brodie - he and Alex look alike).  This is no small feat because Baker outweighs Brodie by over 30 pounds.  According to RHW, Baker has no wrestling experience, but he was a college athlete.  This made me think back to high school where a lot of dudes who played other sports wanted to wrestle me.  Maybe it's the muscles and testosterone that make most jocks think they can wrestle, but they usually learned pretty fast that a wresler is a different breed of jock.  My wrestling matches with these dudes who played football or baseball or ran track did not have the drama of a RHW match, but it never took too long before I put these guys on their back for a pin, which I then followed with some body crushing python hold just to let them know what wrestling was all about.  So, seeing "athlete" Brian Baker wrestling Brodie Fisher brought back these memories.  At least with the first bodyslam, Baker obviously is outmatched, despite his big size advantage.  I love that look of confusion on Baker's face as Brodie takes a hold of his crotch to lift him up.  If you're not a wrestler, then you're probably not going to react too well to being held like that.  And Baker has no idea what to do as Brodie carries him around the ring, clearly not expecting to be manhandled like this.  Brian Baker may know how to spike a volleyball and throw a javelin, but that doesn't make him a wrestler.
