Dante the Heel

It's no secret Dante is high up on my list of favorite wrestlers at Muscleboy Wrestling.  I've featured him several times in my blog already, so I'm surprised I haven't yet done a full post about his match against Ethan Slade from a couple years ago.  If I have a complaint about Dante's matches, it's that MBW usually features him as a jobber.  I want to see Dante be a heel, and that's why this match is so awesome.  Dante steps onto the mat at 180 pounds, while Ethan Slade is a mere 145.  This size difference allows Dante to display his heel side and destroy Ethan with a several bigboy wrestling moves.  This is the Dante I love best.

Message to Muscleboy Wrestling:
I wanna see Dante bodyslam the fuck out of more jobbers!

Dante's Back

Dante is my favorite wrestler at Muscleboy Wrestling, so I was excited when they brought him back for another match.  Now, put Dante in a singlet, and that's just a match I can't pass up!

In MBW's most recent catalogue, Dante faces perennial badboy Jesse Zane.  It starts off with Dante and Jesse hanging out in the wrestling room, wearing singlets with the shoulder straps down.  You know, just normal stuff guys like to do.  When challenged to a match, Dante claims he's not a very good wrestler and that he's not interested.  Um, hello!  You're standing on a wrestling mat wearing a wrestling singlet.  Of course you're going to wrestle!  It's no surprise that Jesse doesn't let Dante off so easy, and the expected wrestling ensues.  Jesse's got a tough streak in him, and he's pretty skilled as a wrestler.  But don't think Dante is just a prettyboy jobber.  Our hunky Latino makes Jesse suffer for long periods during this match.  As the combat grinds on, the singlets come off and the sweat pours down the two wrestlers' bodies.  After a while, Dante complains that he's too tired, but Jesse keeps on going.  Dante is the bigger wrestler, but perhaps his lack of stamina is the equalizer in this match.  Everyone knows that stamina marks the difference between just being a wrestler and being a champion wrestler.  Let's hope MBW helps Dante on his strength and conditioning, because in the next catalogue, I want to see Dante being a badass heel.

Next time, let's hope Dante gets to bodyslam some punk ass!

Scrappy the Heel

A few weeks ago Muscleboy Wrestling released a new slate of matches, and I was glad to see Scrappy make another appearance.  These days, Scrappy is a hot commodity in the world of underground wrestling, and this really gives the blond muscleboy the opportunity to show off  his versitility as a wrestler.  For instance, at Thunders Arena, despite his powerful build Scrappy often finds himself in the jobber role against much bigger dudes.  But MBW gives Scrappy the opportunity to be a heel.  We saw that before in his awesome match against Dante, who has got some good size himself.  In the new release of matches, it gets even better for Scrappy because he gets to impose the full force of his 175 pound physique against Joey McCoy, who weighs in at a mere 135 pounds.  I'll give McCoy some credit for not being a total pushover in this match.  But to be honest, those extra forty pounds of muscle makes all the difference for Scrappy.  I love power moves by muscle boys, and Scrappy does not disappoint.  At times he revels in his superiority.  When you're full of muscles and have a forty pound advantage, there's no question that you got to gorilla press the other dude.  So Scrappy presses McCoy overhead.  Repeatedly.  Wow.  This is what I want to see out of a guy like Scrappy.

But as much as I love watching a dude press a scrawny loser overhead, I like the over-the-knee backbreaker even more.  And we get to enjoy watching Scrappy break McCoy's back over his knee.  Over and over.  And this really is an opportunity for an alpha stud like Scrappy show off his body.  You can't help but notice Scrappy's big traps, bulging biceps and triceps, his powerful pecs, and all the while McCoy is sprawled across his master's knee, his broken body offered up like a human sacrifice to the muscle god that is Scrappy.  No wonder Scrappy looks so happy in this match.

Scrappy is the Happy Heel.

Scrappy is a Muscleboy

Sorry, I've been out of pocket for a few weeks and haven't posted anything.  But lucky for me, I returned just in time to see the release of Muscleboy Wrestling's newest series of matches.  For me, the big news from Muscleboy is that our little hero Scrappy from Thunders Arena (and other wrestling promotions) is now at Muscleboy.  To be totally accurate, Scrappy appeared in his first match two months ago, so he's not completely brand new, but nonetheless I'm excited to see him at Muscleboy.  But there's more!  Dante is back at Muscleboy, too!  It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Dante as well.  And it gets even better because Scrappy and Dante appear in a wrestling match against each other!  There's no way I can miss this match!  I can't decide who I envy more.  Is it Scrappy because he gets to wrestle Dante?  Or is it Dante because he gets to wrestle Scrappy?

I like seeing Scrappy at Muscleboy because he's among wrestlers that are closer to his size.  At Thunders Arena, he tends to be on the smaller side when he goes up against all those huge bodybuilders.  The competition at Muscleboy should allow Scrappy to be more competitive in his matches.  Also, Scrappy fits right in at Muscleboy because he's . . . well, he's a muscleboy.  And he knows it.  This match begins with Scrappy performing a little show flexing his muscles.  That's worth the price of admission alone.  When Dante finally walks onto the mat, he can't help but look with admiration upon his jacked opponent.  "Oh, wow, I like your body!" the Latin stud says with a smile.  The cocky Scrappy flexes and observes, "The first words that come out of most people's mouths when they see me like this."  Scrappy tells Dante that he'll let him worship his muscles, but they have to wrestle first.  When the action begins, Dante learns that the wrestling itself is the muscle worship.  The Latin wrestler gets up close and personal with his opponent's muscles as the powerful Scrappy takes Dante for a wild ride.  To be fair, this is not a total one sided match, and Dante gets in some punishing moves that really make Scrappy suffer (and, boy, does Scrappy know how to suffer!).  But for me the beauty of this match is when our muscleboy Scrappy treats Dante as if he's nothing more than his personal boy toy.  So, the question remains open.  Who do I envy more?  Scrappy, because he gets to have Dante as his boy toy?  Or Dante, because he gets to be Scrappy's boy toy?

Scrappy shows he is all muscleboy!

All American Jobber

In some of my other posts about Taylor Reign of Muscleboy Wrestling, I joke about the possibility of Taylor being the boss at Muscleboy.  Afterall, he's got a few good matches out there being a Grade A heel.  But to be honest, Taylor is a versatile wrestler, and he does great playing jobber, too.  We saw that in his match against Nick Flex.  Don't get me wrong.  I love Taylor the heel, but you can't ignore the appeal of Taylor the jobber.  Taylor is smooth and lean, he's clean cut, has boyish good looks . . . he's the All-American jobber we love to see suffer.

And suffer he does!  What makes a wrestler a good jobber is his ability to endure the punishment, and Taylor does a great job of enduring.  We see that in another match of his at Muscleboy where Taylor faces off against Chris Cannon.  A great jobber needs a great heel, and that's exactly what we get in Cannon who really manhandles Taylor with multiple power moves, like suplexes, racks, and bodyslams.  And if you are a fan of the tombstone piledriver (and who isn't?), Cannon does not disappoint.  It's one of his specialties.  Meanwhile, Taylor endures throughout.  All in all, it's a fun jobber vs heel match where each wrestler compliments the other.  Taylor's performance as jobber makes Cannon shine as the heel, and Cannon's performance as the heel makes Taylor shine as the All American jobber.

Taylor the jobber . . . the boy knows how to suffer!

Power to the People!

I have openly wondered before who the owner of Muscleboy Wrestling is, suspecting that it must be one of the wrestlers on the roster.  Taylor Reign is one wrestler who is high on the list as the possible boss.  We've seen him in a match where he dominated the muscular Justin Powers, and it makes you wonder if Powers had to take a fall in that match just to please the boss.  Now today here's another match from Muscleboy I want to feature where Taylor Reign wrestles a bigger opponent in Dante.  On the website, Taylor is listed at 170 pounds, which seems generous to me given his slender (albeit ripped) physique.  Meanwhile, young Dante from Mexico weighs in at a muscular 185 pounds.  On paper, this match should be an easy win for Dante, but when the wrestling starts, Taylor controls much of the action.  To me at least, this is more evidence Taylor is running the show at Muscleboy.  But assuming that's the case, in this match Dante is having some problems taking orders from the boss.  For parts of the match, it's almost like he knows he's supposed to take the punishment to make the boss look good, but then other times he just can't help himself, so he outmuscles Taylor to take control and dish out some punishment of his own.  Like an exploited and mistreated employee, it's like Dante has finally had all the abuse he can take from "The Man", and he decides to fight back.

The times when Dante chooses to beat up on the boss, he scores one for the little people everywhere.  And he does so with some nice power moves, too.  As you can see above, at one point Dante gets the boss in a crushing bearhug, and another time he dominates the boss with a punishing torture rack.  And my favorite, of course, has to be when Dante scoops Taylor up with a crotchlift and drops him over the knee for a hard backbreaker.  I just love how Dante wraps his arms around Taylor's body and grips him tight with his hands balled up into a fist.  There's just something super-alpha about the way he does that.

And on the subject of breaking the boss's back, it's a Monday, so it's time to celebrate another Backbreaker Monday, courtesy of Dante:

Who among us hasn't at one time wanted to be like Dante, to scoop up some jack-ass boss (or arrogant teacher or school bully or lame assistant wrestling coach who will remain nameless) and break his miserable, fucking back across the knee?  Surely, I'm not the only one.

Keep flexing those muscles, Dante!  Power to the people!

PS - New matches coming out at Muscleboy Wrestling in a week or so.  Keep a watch out!

Who's the Boss?

Cameron Matthews is a long time underground wrestler having appeared in matches at BG East and Thunders Arena, among other places.  Now he runs Wrestler4Hire where he even sometimes appears in matches.  What an awesome way to make a living!  But surely Cameron is not the only guy to create an internet wrestling company in which he gets to be a wrestler.  That makes me wonder if any of the wrestlers we see perform at places like Thunders Arena, UCW, 88 Wrestling, and so on are also the dudes behind the scene who really run things.  And what about Muscleboy Wrestling, whose CEO is self proclaimed "bad ass" Rocco Russo?  I'm convinced Rocco Russo is a wrestler at Muscleboy, but which one?  After checking out a lot of Muscleboy matches this year, I've got my suspicions.  First I zeroed in on Taylor Reign.  He's appeared in a lot of matches, almost twenty, which is something you would expect the owner of Muscleboy to do if he's also a wrestler.  Plus, we have seen Taylor dominate the muscular looking Justin Powers, because maybe Justin knew better than to beat up on his own boss?  But then I get to thinking about Jesse Zane, who has appeared in over thirty matches, by far the most at Muscleboy.  If Jesse created Muscleboy as a venue for his own wrestling, then it makes sense he would appear in so many matches.  And Jesse definitely looked like the bossman when he destroyed Logan Cross.

This is just a long introduction to my post here about a match at Muscleboy between Nick Flex and Connor O'Reilly.  See, I think Nick Flex has got a strong claim to be the real Rocco Russo, too.  To date he has appeared in sixteen videos, so he's one of the more frequent wrestlers on the roster, something you expect from the owner.  And Nick dominates, because maybe no one wants to mess with the boss?  I've posted about his matches against Alex Costa and Taylor Reign, and Nick really savors his domination in those matches while his opponents just endure, like they know they have to submit.  Of course, Nick is big and powerful, so he needs no excuse to demolish another wrestler.  Here are some pics from another match of Nick's, against wrestling boytoty Connor O'Reilly who Nick really seems to take pleasure in playing with (afterall, that's what you do with a toy).  While this does not prove that Nick Flex is Rocco Russo, if I were the CEO of Muscleboy, I certainly would make sure to get my choice of wrestling opponents, with Connor O'Reilly being near the top of the list.

Who's the boss?  Connor has no doubt it's Nick Flex!
