Christmas Angel
Hey dudes! Christmas may have been a few days ago, but the season still continues. So in keeping with the holiday spirit, here are some action shots from Thunders Arena's Christmas Chaos 2012, featuring a match up of little Angel against Big Sexy. It's really Angel that I'm featuring here. I have long been a fan of the little guy because despite his small size, he's got a mouthy attitude and is a great fighter. But he's got his hands full with Big Sexy in this match. Actually, from these pics, I should say that Big Sexy has his hands full of Angel.
Wrestlers are tough guys who show no mercy and love to take out their aggression on other dudes. But at least Big Sexy still maintains a cheery holiday spirit in this match as he tries to put the Angel on top of the Christmas tree.

The Mohawk
Wrestlers like to promote their individuality, and one way to do so is through hairstyle. I remember back in high school we all dyed our hair blond at the beginning of one season. Of course, if every guy on the team colored his hair the same, was that really an expression of individualism? Anyway, we thought it was cool. But there's one hairstyle that I saw back when I was a kid and still see today in wrestling, and that's the Mohawk. I can't think of a whole team who wore the style, but there were always a few dudes each season who sported the look. The Mohawk usually is worn as a symbol of non-conformity and adds a little charisma to the dude who's wearing it. I think it's a good look for a wrestler. Modeling the Mohawk for us today is Dakota Bravo from Underground Championship Wrestling in a match where he tosses little Hiro around for our enjoyment. I have to admit, the Mohawk adds a little extra flavor of bad ass to his bodyslams. Thanks Dakota!

Wrestlers of Christmas Past
Thunders Arena is the place to go if you are looking for that perfect gift for your fellow wrestling fan. Right now TA is promoting its Christmas Chaos series, which is a collection of holiday themed wrestling matches from the past several years. What better way to celebrate Christmas than to watch TA superstar Dominic in action? If I put together a top ten list of my favorite wrestlers, Dominic definitely would be on it. It's been a while since he has appeared in a new match, so it's nice to see some of his old contests. At top he gives Austin Cooper a friendly ride in the 2014 edition of Christmas Chaos. But it's in Christmas Chaos 2011 that the action really heats up when Dominic faces off against the smaller Octane. Dominic is at his best, and Octane gets a Christmas memory he'll never forget.
The muscleboy gives us an extra special double bi flex as he wishes all his fans a very happy holiday season. Thanks Dominic!

Tis the Season for Wrestling
Most people think of early December as the start of the Christmas season, but for many high school and college athletes around the country, it's the beginning of wrestling season! This fact is not lost on Matt Meadlock and Lorenzo Smalls at No Rules Wrestling. Recently the two dudes strapped on singlets and jumped into the ring for a good old fashion freestyle wrestling match. Here we see Matt Meadlock being aggressive, scoring two points with a nice takedown. Then he goes on to expose Lorenzo for backpoints, earning three more points with the move (funny, I don't remember OTK backbreakers being legal when I was in school). It's short time Lorenzo! Work the escape!
On another topic, while the temps are getting cold up here in the States, things are heating up in Singapore. Our good buddies Andruew Tang and Destroyer Dharma (along with their stablemate Trexxus) are primed for action at Singapore Pro Wrestling this weekend with Wrestle the Odds II. Too bad I'm over 9000 miles away, or I'd be there to watch the combat. These guys are not lacking in confidence and look tough to beat. I can hardly wait to see how things turn out for our heroes.

Making a Statement
I enjoy posting about wrestlers from Internet websites like Thunders Arena, Rock Hard Wrestling, and other places. But I have to admit that my favorite posts are about unknown wrestlers I happen to stumble across. A great example of this is the post I did earlier in the year about "The Statement" Andruew Tang from Singapore Pro Wrestling. I don't know what you guys thought about that post, but I really enjoyed researching the dude, looking for action photos, and checking out his matches. As best as I can gather, Andruew was instrumental in getting SPW up and running, and he appears to be a driving force in its ongoing activity today. Following "The Statement" has even led me to other great wrestlers from Southeast Asia, including Destroyer Dharma who I blogged about just a few days ago. I love seeing these dudes wrestle because it is sooooo much more entertaining than what you see in WWE. Sure, there are manufactured storylines and silly drama, but most of it plays out in the ring along with some really entertaining action. One thing I really like about The Statement is that he's a very small dude in the world of pro wrestling, but he is total heel. Andruew is jacked, cocky, arrogant, and has an oversized sense of himself, but unlike other little dudes with Napolean complexes, Andruew totally backs it up in the ring, as you can see from these match photos I have posted here. A TOTAL BADASS!!!
Anyway, I highly recommend that you check this little dude out. He's well worth the price of admission. The last photo comes from a match against Japanese wrestler Michael Nakawaza, which you can see here. But be warned. The Statement cautions that it is a racy, adult-oriented contest. He describes it as the most controversial match he has ever done and please don't try this at home . . . except maybe in the bedroom! Some of the action is a bit too much for me to post on my family oriented blog. And I don't recommend watching it while eating dinner like I did tonight. Ugh!

Danie Dharma
I was tempted to title this post "Revenge of the Nerd" but then decided that it's probably not a good idea to call the wrestling beast we see here a nerd. Danie Dharma is an accomplished bodybuilder from Singapore, having won the title Mr Singapore in 2016. In the match pictures above, Dharma recently makes his pro wrestling debut with Singapore Pro Wrestling under the name Destroyer Dharma. His opponent is Rowdy Ranga from India, and from the looks of these pics, I'd say "Destroyer" is a good name for Dharma in the ring. I love it when bodybuilders turn to wrestling. Big muscles may be nice to look at, but when the posing is over, why not put them to good use by bodyslamming other dudes? Dharma has in interesting backstory, too. As a kid in high school, he was very small and severely bullied. He ultimately channeled his anger and frustration into bodybuilding, and now he gets to further direct that fury by pounding his ring opponents. From the looks of it, maybe Rowdy Ranga was one of Dharma's bullies who finds out the hard way that skinny guys in high school don't always stay so skinny.
This was just Dharma's first match, and I can't wait to see more of him in action. Let's hope he uses those muscles to gorilla press a few dudes in the process. Good luck Danie!

Cyber Monday
Thunders Arena has been showcasing a ton of muscle lately. I can't imagine how many turkeys TA went through last week to feed its talent. All those growing boys need their protein to fuel those massive muscles. I hope to do a more detailed post later about the amazing matches TA has produced recently, but first I want to give you a heads up about TA's Cyber Monday sale, which features some of this muscle that I'm talking about. It's a muscle worship themed match featuring Scrappy, Dolf, and Mark Muscle. Scrappy in his own right is deserving of some muscle worship, but next to the other two beasts, Scrappy definitely looks like the little wimp.
Check out the link here for more information and to see a preview of the action. The deal is this match becomes available with any purchase of another match on Cyber Monday. Thanks Thunders Arena!

Wrestling Angel
A few months ago I mentioned in a post that I had created a fictional wrestling league called Muscle Beach Wrestling. It's like Rock Hard Wrestling or Thunders Arena and features wrestlers who are primarily fitness and underwear models. I put two dudes in the ring and write up a scenario on how the match goes. Of course, the matches feature lots of bodyslams and other pro style moves. Here's a little sample from a match that pits Angel Hernandez (5' 8" 160#) against Joseph Ng (5' 5" 125 #), with artwork provided by 09tuf of Deviant Art to help bring the action to life:
"This contest is memorable for Angel, not only because he makes his debut at MBW, but it's also his 18th birthday. Angel has no pro ring experience, but he's the captain of his elite high school wrestling team, so he's no stranger to the sport. He faces Josepg Ng, who is six years his senior. Joseph already has five matches under his belt at MBW in addition to his time as one of the few pro wrestlers in Singapore, so he's got experience that the teen wrestler lacks. But at only 125 pounds, Joseph gives up a huge 35 pound advantage to the strapping youth. Can Joseph's experience be enough to overcome Angel's size?
Angel stands in the ring, barefoot and clad in nothing but a pair of black Calvin Klein low rise trunks with a white waistband. The birthday boy exudes youth with his clean cut looks and smooth muscles. He anxiously awaits his opponent. Joseph enters the room and confidently climbs into the ring to face Angel. The Asian wrestler sports gray trunks for the match. The two wrestlers face each other, with Angel's nervous anticipation in contrast to Joseph's coolness. . . ."
". . . The series of slams and throws has taken its toll, and Joseph offers little resistence when Angel brings him to his feet again. Joseph only struggles lightly when Angel slides his arm between the Asian’s legs again and secures a crotch hold. Joseph feels the teen wrestler’s hand clamp his butt, their bodies pressed together chest to chest, and then Joseph is off the ground and up into the air again. “Fuck!” Joseph curses as he feels Angel’s arm cinching tightly in his crotch. The 24 year old wrestler kicks his legs and squirms, but he’s no match for the power of the 18 year old carrying him around the ring. . . ."
". . . The teen wrestler takes a quick predatory walk around his fallen victim, growling and flexing, before pulling him to his feet. Yet again the Latino takes a deep and deliberate hold through Joseph’s legs and hoists him into the air. Joseph just lies limp in Angel’s arms, only his legs twitching everytime he feels Angel’s muscles flexing in his crotch. It’s another beautiful lift and hold, and Angel takes Joseph on a parade around the mat, savoring every moment of his alpha male domination. . . ."
". . . Angel yanks Joseph back up, reaches in and places his hand squarely between the legs. Joseph is totally caught off guard when the teen wrestler next picks him up and presses his 125 pounds body overhead in a full military press. It’s total domination, and Angel feels a rush like he’s never felt in high school wrestling as he holds his opponent up high. The teen is young, he’s strong, and this is where his 35 pound advantage really shows itself. “Bloody hell!” Joseph exclaims as he finds himself held high above Angel’s head. . . ."
Anyway, there you have it. In the end, Angel uses his muscles and size advantage to overcome the smaller but more experienced Joseph. I just provided some highlights of the match here, but you can fill in the gaps with the holds and moves you want to see between these two dudes. And I'd like to hear your version of the wrestling action.

November to Remember
If the NRW bosses are reading this, can we see Lorenzo Smalls deliver some spine busting punishment on Slim, too?

Shoulder Day
Today was shoulder day at the gym, so I got to work with my new instructional weight lifting video from Thunders Arena. Now I'm sore as fuck but can't complain about the results I'm seeing. I'm getting swoll, dudes.

Tanner Hill
Tanner Hill is a new wrestler at Rock Hard Wrestling, and by the looks of him I'd say he's got a good future in the ring ahead of him. He understands where the money is in this industry, and it's in muscle. RHW obviously realizes this, too, as they tout the new guy as an up and coming teen bodybuilder. In a recent match against Wes Richards, Tanner doesn't hesitate to share his thoughts on how to build muscle. He mocks Wes for jumping around doing his crossfit exercises, and he points out that lifting weights is the way to build those biceps. And like the good muscleboy that he is, Tanner does more than just talk. He first demonstrates by pumping some iron, and then later in the match he works out those biceps by lifting Wes. "I can carry you around all day like this!" Tanner gloats. Oh, if only he did. Opinions may differ on whether crossfit or simple weight lifting is the better road to a muscled physique. You may even disagree with Tanner's own view on the subject, but you can't argue with his results:

Lift and Carry
Enjoy these action shots from a match at Thunders Arena between Dozer and Frey (Austin Cooper). It's a contest featuring muscles of epic proportion (but you can say that about any match where Dozer wrestles). Among the many things I love about wrestling is lift and carry. That should come as no surprise since my blog really is a celebration of the lift and carry in wrestling. I love it when I lift and carry another dude, and I love it when another dude lifts and carries me. I love seeing other wrestlers lift and carry each other. You may wonder, what's the point, really? Why train so hard to be a wrestler? Why work out and lift weights? Why build big mucles? Well, you build big muscles not only because they make you look good, but because you want to put them to use. You want to dominate another dude in a match. You want to show off your strength and power by lifting him up and carrying him around before you slam him hard to the mat. And when the match is over, you want to be the Alpha male who gets to do this:
So, to be honest, that's really the point of it all. For a wrestler, everything else is secondary.
