Take It Easy!

Bearhugs, bodyslams, and backbreakers probably are my favorite pro-style wrestling moves.  And when you see them in a match featuring two good looking wrestlers, it's a winning combination.  This is what we get in a match between Scrappy and Reyes Valenti at  Wrestler4Hire.  With a couple of piledrivers thrown in, too, this video pretty much checks all my boxes.

The set up for this video is Cameron Matthews bringing young Reyes Valenti to the ring so veteran Scrappy can show him a few things.  Cameron cautions Scrappy to "take it easy" on his young protege.  But for Scrappy, there is no "easy" in wrestling.  He's only got an on/off switch.  And when he's "on", it's bearhugs, bodyslams, and backbreakers for poor Reyes.  "This isn't easy!" Reyes groans after the first backbreaker, but Scrappy just keeps at it.  From outside the ring, we hear Cameron yelling at Scrappy, reminding him to take it easy.  "I promised his mom I'd have him back home in one piece!" Cameron shouts while Reyes gets the crap beaten out of him.  Scrappy just can't help himself.

By the way, in my last post I suggested that Scrappy is one of the best at over-the-knee backbreakers, and he does nothing in this match to prove me wrong.  As for Reyes Valenti, this is the first match of his I have checked out, and I must say I like what I see.  While not as jacked as Scrappy, Reyes has a smooth, muscular body, and he boasts boyish good looks.  He suffers well at the hands of Scrappy, but Reyes has some decent size, too.  I see the potential in him to dish out beahugs, bodyslams, and backbreakers of his own on a smaller opponent.  (I hope W4H takes the hint.)

One final note -- this video really is two matches in one, because halfway through Cameron gets in the ring and goes after Scrappy when the muscleboy refuses to "take it easy" on Reyes.  That part of the match will deserve another post some day.  All in all, this video is well worth the price of admission.

Hey, Scrappy, we told you to take it easy!

Is Wrestling My Porn?

Someone once joked that if you run out of gay porn, just watch wrestling because it's basically the same thing.  I responded with a polite chuckle, but after thinking about it, I began to wonder if wrestling is my porn.  Porn itself just isn't my thing, gay or straight.  It's rare that I ever watch it.  But wrestling, on the other hand, is a different matter.  There are some days where I waste hours on the computer searching for and watching wrestling videos and downloading pictures.  I love wrestling for the sport, and I also love it for the masculinity of it.  So yeah, I have to admit that sometimes it does get me "going" a bit, if you know what I mean.

But does wrestling rise to the level of porn?  If so, I guess that's why some gay porn stars also do wrestling videos.  I'm aware that a few guys I blog about (probably a lot more) are also active in the adult film industry.  I'm not that clued in to the industry to know its stars, but at least I'm clued in enough to know that Topher Dimaggio is one of the better known names out there.  So, it's really no surprise he does wrestling videos, too, including a recent match at Wrestler4Hire that I feature here.

Topher finds himself in the ring wrestling big boy Joey Nux.  And seriously, Joey is a very big boy.  And absolutely shredded, too.  The dude just exudes strength and power.  Topher really doesn't stand a chance.  I liked watching this match very much.  I enjoyed the muscles, the sweat, the athleticism.  These are the very things that draw me to wrestling.  Plus it's no secret that I love lift and carry power moves in wrestling, and Joey absolutely delivers as he bodyslams, racks, backbreaks, and piledrives Topher throughout this match.  And Topher does his job well, too, enduring the punishment and suffering like a jobber boy is supposed to suffer at the hands of a muscular heel.  I still don't have any real interest seeing Topher performing in adult films, but I defintely want to see a lot more of him in the wrestling ring.

Hmm, watching Joey piledrive Topher over and over . . .
Maybe wrestling really is my porn!

Faces of Pain

A good squash job doesn't just rely on a dominant heel.  You also need a jobber boy who can play the role.  I recently checked out a match at Wrestler4Hire between MarkO and Zach Reno.  The write up about the match on the webpage leaves little doubt this is a classic heel versus jobber match.  And let me tell you, Zach Reno really sells the jobber role.

MarkO is cocky, confident, aggressive, and has the body to back it all up in the wrestling ring as the heel.  Zach is no pushover himself, but in this match he doesn't stand a chance against his muscular opponent.  This match is equally about MarkO as the alpha wrestler as it is about Zach Reno the suffering jobber.  We know pro-style wrestling is really about the entertainment and drama of the conflict, but Zach sells his suffering so well at times, I get the impression Zach's faces of pain are genuine.

Now, as much as I like seeing a good jobber punished, I'm more entertained at the sight of a muscular heel dominating.  That's the main reason I purchased this match.  The lift and carry aspect of this match does not disappoint.  Seeing the ripped, muscular MarkO repeatedly hoist Zach Reno into the air and toss him about checks all my boxes.  We get bodyslams, suplexes, a killer torture rack, gorilla presses (yes, that's plural), plus a devastating series of over-the-knee backbreakers that it's a wonder Zach can still walk.  MarkO is a muscle freak, and his performance is so dominant we have little doubt that Zach's suffering is real.  At the end of the match, I find it hard to decide which wrestler I envy more.  But as much as I hate to admit it, it's probably Zach because he gets to be MarkO's little bitch.

The suffering jobberboy needs a little break!

I'm On Team Scrappy

My last post was all about choosing sides in a match where Ethan Andrews makes an appearance.  Here we go again with another Ethan match, this time from Wrestler4Hire where he wrestles Scrappy.  Can there be any doubt about my choice in this one?  Hell, yeah, I'm on Team Scrappy!

Heck, let's be honest.  I'm usually on Team Scrappy regardless of who he's wrestling.  But in this match, it sure is fun seeing our little muscleboy go all alpha on the pale, pasty Ethan.  Scrappy is my favorite type of wrestler.  He's got muscles, and he loves to use them.  My guess is Ethan spends about half the match up in the air as Scrappy picks him up and tosses him around over and over.  Sure, Ethan gets in some good moves here and there himself.  But there's no point in highlighting any of that in this post.  After all, I'm on Team Scrappy!

Team Scrappy brings out the big guns!

Wrestling Is Taxing Business

I've been trying to work on my taxes but am having a hard time keeping focused.  My most recent distraction is a new wrestling match from Wrestler4Hire that features Christian Thorn against Rolf Fulton and Trenton Ducati.  This is one of those two-on-one matches that I have talked about in other posts.  Christian has got a great physique with impressive muscles, but with his small stature there's no doubt this is going to be a two-on-one beat down by the much larger Rolf and Trenton.  The dictionary defines "taxing" to mean "physically or mentally demanding."  And that's exactly what wrestling is in this match, especially for Christian.  If you enjoy watching a small muscleboy get beaten by two bigger guys, then this match is for you.

Christian gets audited for using Form 2106 to claim his trunks as a business expense.

Odd Man Out

So, what happens to a lean, gawky, scrawny guy who finds himself in a wrestling ring with two beefy muscle guys?  He discovers pretty fast that he's the odd man out.

It's a two-on-one wrestling match at Wrestler4Hire featuring Brad Barnes, Austin Cooper, and Ethan Andrews.  Both Brad and Austin sport a lot of muscle on their bodies, but not so much for the lanky Ethan, who clearly looks like the odd man out.  I love Brad Barnes!  And I'm a big fan of Austin, too, because he loves bodyslams and other power moves.  But as for Ethan . . . well, I have to admit that I always struggle with him. The set up for this match is that Ethan has long been a a bully to Brad, but he finally gets his due when Brad and Austin exact revenge on the smaller dude. In real life no one would ever believe an Ethan could be a bully to a Brad Barnes, but in the world of underground wrestling, Ethan often plays the bully, or rather the heel, to bigger muscle guys.  And that's where I have struggled with Ethan.  I like seeing the good looking, masculine muscle jocks delivering a beat down on a smaller jobber.  But when I see Ethan giving a musclestud a beat down, it just doesn't appeal to me.  That's especially the case at 88Wrestling, where Ethan clearly is the "odd man out" among all the fitness studs and physique models on the roster there, but those muscleboys always seem to play jobber to Ethan's heel.  Of course, it's a matter of personal taste, and lots of guys obviously enjoy seeing Ethan in that type of match.  Also, to be fair, I don't want to give the impression that I don't like Ethan at all.  He's a talented and prolific wrestler, and I think he is awesome in the role of heel at UCW Wrestling.  He really fits in there.  But when he's wrestling a big, good-looking muscle jock, I want to see Ethan suffer.  So, this really is just a long-winded way of saying that I liked this two-on-one match at W4H a lot because two of my favorite musclestuds dominate Ethan with tons of power moves like bodyslams, pile drivers, backbreakers, torture racks, and bearhugs.  So there you go, Ethan!  Take that, you damn bully!

Now that's how a muscleboy treats a jobber!
