New Kid on the Block
For the past couple of years Tak has been the golden boy of Thunders Arena, and by "golden boy" I mean the small dude who gets thrown into the ring like a piece of meat to satisfy the muscle monsters that regularly appear on TA's roster. But are Tak's days numbered? There's a new kid at TA who's giving our golden boy some competition. It's Flaco, who at 5' 9" and 140 pounds really lives up to his name (I think "flaco" basically means "scrawny" in Spanish, but I'm too lazy to look it up right now). Recent matches have him wrestling the likes of Kid Titan, Talon, and Viggo, just to name a few. Tak has got some competition now, because I like the looks of this little dude as he gets tossed around in the ring. Welcome to Thunders Arena kid!

Random Racks
Sometimes I think about changing the title of my blog to "Bodyslam and Torture Rack Fan", but since the current name has such strong brand recognition, it's probably best not to mess with it. Still, that doesn't mean I can't post awesome pictures of torture racks (since it's my blog, I guess I can post whatever I want). I like shoulder racks for many of the same reasons I like bodyslams. It's a great lift and carry move that gives the alpha wrestler the opportunity to show who is in charge. And it's easier to pick up and carry around your victim in a rack than it is for a bodyslam. But from a jobber's perspective it can be different. A bodyslam can be kind of fun at first because you get picked up and carried around before the pain of the slam, but with a torture rack, the punishment comes immediately with being carried around. And if you want to be a super alpha wrestler, you can make the jobber suffer for as long as you want with a rack. Several of the pics above come from Thunders Arena because the wrestlers there do a great job with torture racks. But the move has universal appeal among all wrestlers, so you can see it pretty much anywhere. It's just an awesome move.

Dominic vs Viggo
Can you believe that it's been almost two years since I last featured Dominic in a post? He may be my favorite wrestler from Thunders Arena. He's a strong, powerful dude at 5' 9" and 205 pounds. His muscles are not just for show. Dominic puts them to good use when he steps onto the wrestling mat. Here he is in a match earlier this year facing off against Viggo. Both wrestlers are phenomenally conditioned, but the taller Viggo gives up a 25 pound advantage to Dominic. The difference is all muscle, and with that extra muscle, Dominic does what he does best, which is dominate.

Marco
For the last year Thunders Arena has really been giving one of it's new wrestlers a hard workout. Marco is a wrestler from Pennsylvania who made his way down to Florida to join the roster at TA. He's 5' 8" and 180 pounds, and from the video clips and pictures I've seen, he knows how to handle himself on a wrestling mat. Marco is looking pretty studly in that third picture as he presses Bolt overhead. Be sure to check out all his matches at the Thunders Arena's website.

Backbreaker Monday
It's Monday. The first day of the work week. Seems like a good day to have a tribute to the backbreaker because a job can be backbreaking work, amiright fellas? Too bad we all can't be pro wrestlers. I know these dudes put in a lot of hard work, but in the ring they make it look like too much fun for it to be just a job. Have a good week, guys, and keep up the good work!

A New Boy Toy
One of my favorite wrestling themes at Thunders Arena is when a small dude faces musclebound competition on the mat. Of course, this never goes well for the little dude, who usually serves as nothing more than a chew toy for his muscled up opponents. Surprisingly, TA doesn't seem to have a hard time finding wrestlers willing to be fodder for these kinds of matches. We've seen the likes of Angel, Tak, and Mogley get tossed about by much larger wrestlers, and now TA has given its hungry bodybuilders another piece of meat in the form of a little guy named Shane. He appeared in two recent matches going up against the much larger Viggo and Specimen. You really don't need to see these pictures to know what happens to Shane in these matches, but it's still nice of TA to show them to us.
