Christmas Angel

Hey dudes!  Christmas may have been a few days ago, but the season still continues.  So in keeping with the holiday spirit, here are some action shots from Thunders Arena's Christmas Chaos 2012, featuring a match up of little Angel against Big Sexy.  It's really Angel that I'm featuring here.  I have long been a fan of the little guy because despite his small size, he's got a mouthy attitude and is a great fighter.  But he's got his hands full with Big Sexy in this match.  Actually, from these pics, I should say that Big Sexy has his hands full of Angel.

Wrestlers are tough guys who show no mercy and love to take out their aggression on other dudes.  But at least Big Sexy still maintains a cheery holiday spirit in this match as he tries to put the Angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Meet the Press

What better way to kick off summer than to pay tribute to wrestling's most awe inspiring move . . . the overhead press!  All for the glory of wrestling!

Power of the Atom

In college I loved my physics classes.  I was fascinated by the power of the atom.  Something so tiny that it's measured in picometers (a trillionth of a meter), yet when split through nuclear fission it produces an exothermic reaction to release a large amount of energy.  Ha ha!  Just kidding.  I wasn't really a science geek in college.  I just got that stuff from Wikipedia.  But I am impressed with the power of Atom the wrestler at Thunders Arena.  I've posted before about how deceptively strong he is, and he's at it again with a nice looking gorilla press here of Angel.  I'm a fan of Angel, too, who's a scrapper who really knows how to put the hurt on bigger dudes.  With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I'm thankful to both Atom and Angel (as well as Thunders Arena) for all the entertainment they have provided us.

And I'm also thankful for having finally reached 100 followers.  Thanks guys!

Always Believe

The big beast Specimen wrestles Angel at Thunders Arena with predictable results.  I feature Angel here separately from the other dudes at TA who Specimen has tossed around.  The other guys like Mogly, Z-Man, and Tak all know going into their matches with Specimen what's going to happen to them.  But you can bet that Angel had different ideas.  He's small but he's a scrapper and doesn't back down from a challenge.  Everyone else can see that Specimen is a hundred pounds bigger, but in Angel's eyes they are the same.  He has every intention of winning the match.  On every wrestling team there's a lightweight who thinks he's really in a much bigger weight class.  He always wants to wrestle the bigger guys and usually gets his butt kicked in the process, but he keeps coming back.  At Thunders Arena, that wrestler is Angel.  Sure, he gets manhandled here by Specimen, but in his mind, Angel knows that next time will be different.

Primal Wrestling

The Dominator is at it again in a new match at Thunders Arena against Angel.  From the promo this appears to be a good back and forth match because Angel is a scrapper who always handles himself pretty well on the mat in spite of his inevitable size disadvantage.  But as we all know, Dominic loves to press other dudes overhead, and Angel (whether he likes it or not) frequently finds himself hefted up in the air by his bigger opponents.  So it's no surprise to see Dominic send Angel flying.  One thing I love about Dominic is the look of intensity when he gorilla presses his opponents.  It's like he's tapping into some primordial power deep inside him which gives him superhuman strength.  Wrestling is a primal sport, and all good wrestlers know how to tap into that beastly power deep within during the heat of competition, when that survival instinct matters most.  Wrestling is survival of the fittest like no other sport.

Angel

Although lately I've been promoting the "bigger is better" point of view, there's another cliche worth mentioning:  "good things come in small packages."  Angel of Thunders Arena is a good example of this.  Not long ago Joe at Ringside posted this picture of Angel picking up another wrestler over his head.  It just goes to show that just because you're small, you still can be bad ass.  Angel's bio on TA puts him at 135 pounds, but it's probably been a while since he's weighed in at TA.  From the picture above, it looks like he's put on a lot of muscle.  I've talked about Angel before and how he tends to get tossed around a lot. But with his new muscles, maybe it's time for Angel to turn the tables on his opponents.

Rise of the Frat Boy

Jackson is one of the wrestlers at Thunders Arena. He definitely falls into the frat boy category with his muscular build, clean cut looks, and a certain confident arrogance. If you come across a guy like this at your frat house, you definitely want to wrestle him. Here I see Jackson as a new member of the fraternity, and he wants to show who's boss. The wrestling starts with a fellow brother, and Jackson dominates, eventually humiliating his opponent by pressing the guy overhead. When you gorilla press another dude, that elevates you to automatic alpha male status at the frat house.

Fallen Angel

I've featured the gorilla press in my blog on several occasions. I think most fans of professional wrestling would agree that the gorilla press is the ultimate male display of strength and power. There isn't much in wrestling that looks more awesome than seeing a muscle stud pick up and press overhead another piece of man muscle. Most fans of pro wrestling are guys, and I suspect most have wondered what it would be like to be pressed overhead by another dude. Very few will get to experience something like that. But opportunities do exist, especially if you're a mouthy, muscled up 135 pound dude and you work for a wrestling company that features bodybuilders. This is just a long introduction to wrestler Angel of Thunders Arena. This little guy is a real scrapper and doesn't hesitate to go up against the big guys. Unfortunately for him (or maybe fortunately), he often finds himself eight feet up in the air and poised to be slammed hard onto the ground. If you're a dude with fantasies of being gorilla pressed by a musclebound wrestler, then Angel is living your dream. (Note: If you like the gorilla press, then you need to check out Thunders Arena. There's much more there than just Angel being hoisted overhead.)

Fear Factor

I get a laugh sometimes when I see pics of bodyslams, and the guy being carried around has a look of abject terror on his face, or at least one of extreme discomfort. I mean, the guy in the third picture looks like he's auditioning for a hemorrhoid commercial. C'mon guys, why the fear? Think of when you were a little kid and being taken for an airplane spin by a bigger brother or someone. If someone like Scotty Mac were carrying me around like this, I'd sure have a smile on my face. This is the highlight of the bodyslam because things aren't going to get any better when the slam comes. Only the dude in the last picture has the right attitude. Enjoy the ride while you can, my friend. Enjoy the ride. (Note: Top photo from Cyberfights, second and fifth from BGEast, and the fourth from Thunders Arena. All sites have great wrestling action. Anyone know where the third photo comes from?)

Gorilla Press - Part 2

Although pro wrestling has given us the gorilla press for a while, in recent years, many internet video wrestling companies have also gotten into the act. As a result, some of my favorite muscle stud wrestlers like Aryx Quinn, Braden Charron, and Alexi Adamov have hoisted overhead some of their hapless opponents. I can hardly wait to see who's next.
