Stallion

Thunders Arena has made a name for itself by bringing in big bodybuilders to the world of underground wrestling.  The guy featured here is Stallion, who at 6' 2" and 250 pounds offers a lot of power and muscles when he steps onto the mat.

Of course, bodybuilders who wrestle love to show off their muscles, and that's why I like Stallion.  He knows he's big and strong, so he has no problem lifting and carrying and tossing other dudes during a match.  That's easy to do when pretty much every other guy is smaller than you.  Even a big muscleboy like Eagle finds himself tossed about like he's nothing but a little punk.  Holy shit!  This is power wrestling at its best.

"You weigh 200 pounds?  No problem, bro!"

Scrappy is a Boytoy

I my blog post earlier this week, I made a comment about Scrappy being on the smaller side at Thunders Arena.  I received a lot of emails from fans of my blog asking what I meant by that.  Ha ha, just kidding!  My blog has no fans and I never get emails.  But anyway, just in case anyone was wondering about my comments, we see here several examples of the role Scrappy gets to play when he wrestles at TA.  Sure, at 5' 8" and 160 pounds, the muscular Scrappy is no pushover.  But look at his competition at TA, with the likes of Loki (5' 10" and 220#), Rhino (6' 3" and 230#), Eagle (5' 11" and 200#), Cason (6' 1" and 235#), and Viking (6' 6" and 260#).  While I like seeing Scrappy at a place like Muscleboy Wrestling where he can show off his wrestling skills and put up a good fight against similar-sized competition, it's also fun watching Scrappy being a boytoy at TA.  Our little Scrappy is a versatile wrestler.

The New Boy Toy

Back in the earlier days of Thunders Arena, there was always one wrestler who was what I called the "Boy Toy" -- a smaller wrestler who often was no more than just a play thing for the bigger muscle studs at TA.  The Boy Toy often found himself high in the air, pressed overhead by the many powerful bodybuilders on the TA roster.  Older examples of the Boy Toy included Tak and Angel.  But I thought TA had moved beyond this gimic, and the Boy Toy character was no more.  Well, the other day while looking through some of my favorite photos from TA, I had a "holy crap!" moment.  It hit me that Blayne is the new Boy Toy!  How could I have missed this?  Blayne is no newcomer at Thunders Arena, and he's been gorilla pressed by some of TA's finest.  I am a professionally trained blogger, so I need to start paying better attention to these kind of things!

Fright Night

It's Halloween, and Thunders Arena was nice enough to give me a look at their Halloween Havoc series.  This year it features four matches.  The first one I checked out has Blayne against a Mystery Man.  The two begin wrestling wearing colorful carnival style maskes.  You'd think that would not be scary at all, but you'd be wrong.  Or at least for me.  I was surprised to find the masks kind of creepy, but in a good way, you know.  The kind of creepy you want to have for Halloween.

Then I moved on to another match that features our All-American Eagle being ambushed by a guy wearing a Ghostface mask (from the Scream movies).  Holy shit!  Those movies really scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, and even today seeing Eagle getting attacked by Ghostface has the potential to give me nightmares tonight.  As much as I hate to admit it, I have always been a wuss when it comes to horror movies.  Luckily, in this match Eagle eventually removes the mask to reveal his good buddy Cason.  The video then progresses into a good old fashioned wrestling match between two muscleboys in the pool at night.  That's guaranteed to give just about any guy sweet dreams at bed time.

There are two more matches that are part of this year's Halloween Havoc, but I did not have time to review them.  But you can check all four matches out at the TA website.

All American Heel

It was almost three years ago when Eagle made his debut at Thunders Arena as an innocent looking, cornfed Indiana farmboy looking to make it big in the world of underground wrestling.  Since then, Eagle has become one of the more prolific wrestlers at TA, appearing in almost fifty matches to date.  And he's no longer just a naive countryboy trying to make his way on the mean streets of Thunders Arena.  Today, our Eagle is all grown up, and he makes a powerful heel with his All American, clean cut good looks and his amazing muscular physique.  He's got the face, the abs, the bulging biceps, powerful pecs, stunning traps, and thick thighs.  For me, this is the perfect kind of heel.  This is exactly the kind of guy I want to see dominate in a wrestling match.  I just love to see the weaker wrestler suffer at the hands of the All American musclestud.

In one of his recent matches at TA, Eagle engages in some poolside wrestling with Bolt.  With Eagle being 200 pounds of solid muscle, this is the perfect opportunity to show his heel side against the 150 pound Bolt.  And Eagle takes full advantage by punishing little Bolt with several power moves, like bearhugs, torture racks, and the studliest of all wrestling moves, the gorilla press.  Now, one minor thing that irked me about this video is that Eagle seems annoyed at times that he has to deal with Bolt, as if he just wants to be left alone.  But if I were a twenty-something musclestud with the physique and power of Eagle, I would not hesitate to savor ever second I could get my hands on Bolt (or any other guy) and assert my alpha-male dominance.  Luckily, when the two wrestlers do lock up in this match, that's what we get.  Once Eagle gets his hands on his smaller opponent, he pretty much bends and manipulates Bolt's body to his own will.

So, what do you do after you emasculate another dude with a gorilla press?  You flex those biceps in triumph like the fucking certified muscleboy that you are!

Eagle Uncaged

I was glad when Thunders Arena began filming matches in a real wrestling ring.  Being in a ring opens up possibilities for the wrestlers to try more high flying and pro-style moves that they can't really do on the small wrestling mat where most of TA's matches are filmed.  And some wrestlers in particular I REALLY want to see go pro-style, with Eagle being one of them.  Lucky for us, TA gives Eagle some ring time, including in a recent match where he goes head to head (hand to hand?) with Blayne.  He does not disappoint.  Over a year ago when Eagle made his debut at Thunders Arena, I hoped we would get to see this muscle stud gorilla press other dudes, and we get our wish granted in this match.  Eagle also delivers other awesome wrestling moves and holds, too.  I would make a comment about a soaring Eagle, but in this match it looks like Blayne is the one who gets the most air time. But to be fair here, Blayne is no pushover.  He's got some great wrestling moves and techniques himself.  Both Eagle and Blayne perform really well in the ring.  All in all, it's a fun match to watch (if only the camera man could learn how to film around the ropes . . . a hazard of staging matches in a ring, I guess).

This is one certified Grade A muscleboy here!  You can see more match photos and excellent commentary from Joe at Ringside and Alex in the Cave.

Ten Years of the Z Man

A while ago I mentioned in a post that "the Z Man" Zack Vazquez had been appearing in online wrestling matches for as long as I've been watching them.  Now for a little bit of a history lesson, Zack's first appearance ever in a wrestling match occurred for Thunders Arena, and that was ten years ago.  TA celebrate's Zack's tenth anniversary in the ring (and on the mat) by putting him in a match against Eagle.  Is this supposed to be an award for Zack or a punishment?  I guess that depends on your point of view.  The young corn-fed wrestler constantly reminds Zack throughout the match that he's an old man.  But if Zack is what an "old man" looks like, then I should stop worrying so much about the aging process.  As you can see from the pictures above, Eagle finds out that an old man can still be a formidable foe.  Thanks for a decade of dominating wrestling action Z Man!

Cyber Monday at Thunders Arena

A second post in two days?!  You must think Christmas is early!  Well, not quite, but Christmas is just around the corner, so it's time to take care of shopping.  As best as I can, I avoid the mobs and lunatics on Black Friday, but I do look forward to Cyber Monday, and this year it will be extra special.  Thunders Arena has announced a one day sale of a special wrestling match featuring Frey (also known as Austin Cooper) and new guy Eagle.  MONDAY ONLY!  So you better act fast.  I was lucky to catch a sneak preview of the match, and it's a good one.  Eagle is a great find for TA and will fit in well on the roster.  At 5' 11" and 190 pounds (I would have guessed well over 200), the dude is an Indiana state champion wrestler and male model.  What boy doesn't dream of being a champion wrestler AND a model when he grows up?  Eagle has it all.  He knows he's good looking and loves to flex his biceps, which are required qualities for a champion wrestler.  In his match against Frey, I like how Eagle sports a pair of yellow squarecut shorts on the mat.  I think it compliments his masculine, wrestling-jock image.  And throughout the match, he frequently mocks Frey for wearing "panties".  Of course, Frey is no one's fool.  Both Eagle's boxer briefs and Frey's panties are on full display when Frey scoops Eagle up and cracks his spine with an otk backbreaker (a move that Frey always does so well).  There are plenty of other good moves, holds, and action in this match, so you don't want to miss it.  MONDAY ONLY!

I have to admit that I'm excited to see what TA has in store for us with this new wrestler on its roster, and I hope it includes Eagle bodyslamming, gorilla pressing, and backbreaking many opponents.  He's got the makings of a certified muscle boy.
