Breaking News

I want to interrupt my current story line of Marcus Anthony and Rob Terry to bring you up to date on Thunders Arena.  There's a new match featuring muscle boy Python wrestling a guy called Red.  TA's description of the match doesn't hide the fact that Python gets pummelled in the end, but if you check out the video preview, you get treated to Python gorilla pressing his opponent.  Python's arms are good for arm wrestling, bear hugs, and that skull crushing headlock of his, but they are also great for lifting other dudes.  You really get a good appreciation here for Python's biceps and triceps as he presses Red overhead.  They are amazing.  We've seen Python gorilla press another dude before, and I hope TA gives us more in the future.  In fact, I wish TA would let Python be more of a heel, maybe turn him loose on a smaller guy where he can put his muscles to use with bodyslams, backbreakers, racks, and all those good power moves that muscle boy wrestlers love to use.  Are you reading this Thunder's Arena?!

Python

In my last post I noted that the real big muscle dudes of pro wrestling are entitled to show off by gorilla pressing other guys.  But you don't need to be a real big muscle dude for this kind of stuff.  You can be just a regular sized muscle dude.  There's a recent match at Thunders Arena featuring Python going up against Big Sexy.  Although the TA website claims that Python weighs 156 pounds, he looks like he's put on a few more pounds since he first made his debut there.  But still, he's clearly much smaller than Bix Sexy, who comes in at over 200 pounds.  Despite his relatively smaller size, Python (and there's no secret as to why he goes by that name) still looks almost monster like thanks to his huge muscles.  So, Big Sexy outweighs him by fifty pounds?  No big deal.  Python can still press him overhead.  I like seeing the big bodybuilders wrestle, but there's something otherwordly about them.  So sometimes for me it's more impressive to see a dude like Python, who is close to my size, do something superhuman like he's doing here with Big Sexy.  It's awe inspiring.  Python has wrestled in several matches at TA this year where it looks like he's been more of a jobber served up to the bigger heel.  I'm hoping these pics are a sign that he's moving into a more aggressive role for future matches.

Check out Joe's take on this match at Ringside here.  And for more information about Python, check out his personal website.

March of the Wrestlers

March has been a good month for this blog. I've surpassed fifty followers, which is pretty cool to think so many people are interested in what I've got to say (ok, it's probably the pictures instead of my commentary). And this month has featured more post than any other month since I began this blog. For some reason my creativity has been working overtime lately. And whenever I think I've said all there is to say, Thunders Arena comes around with a new match that offers me inspiration. I couple weeks ago they released a match with Dominic wrestling Python. Holy fuck! I don't think I can adequately put into words what I think about these two guys. Dominic in particular may be my favorite wrestler at Thunders Arena, probably beause he loves to gorilla press other dudes. What a life he has. Dominic gets to spend his days at the gym working out, building up his muscles, wrestling around with other muscled up dudes, totally kicking ass with bodyslams, overhead presses, and other power moves. This guy is living my dream.

El Bombero

Here are some photos of wrestler El Bombero (The Fireman). This guy is better known as TJ Perkins, but sometimes he must like to don the mask and enter the ring as El Bombero for a bizarre little production called Lucha VaVoom. They bill themselves as a place where Mexican masked wrestling, strip tease, and comedy collide. Interesting. This place seems to be worth checking out in more detail, but as of yet, I haven't gotten past El Bombero. The action shots show him looking pretty studly as he gorilla presses one of the Crazy Chickens (seriously) during a wrestling match. When I came across these pictures, they carried the caption "Choking the Chicken". Wow. Maybe for some that's supposed to draw your attention to El Bombero's left hand with its hold of his opponents neck. But I think El Bombero wants to draw your attention to where his right hand is. That's where he really gets to choke the Chicken. Hopefully I can find some better action shots of this dude who really seems to understand the joys of wrestling.

And on a related note, I got to take a break from my little run touting the frat boys at Thunders Arena. They just posted yet another frat boy wrestling match with a new guy called Python. Wow. This is just too much for me to handle at the moment (and that's saying a lot coming from a wrestler). I hope we get to see this guy choke some chicken soon like El Bombero. But right now there's just too much good stuff coming from TA that I gotta step away for a little bit. Python looks like a great new find, so in the mean time check him out yourselves at Thunders Arena.
